He started his political career in 2014 and has so far run for two offices. He contested for house of representative’s member seat to represent Nsukka/igboeze south federal constituency under the people’s democratic party.

He left the all progressive congress after they presented a muslim presidential and a muslim vice-presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.
Kenneth Okonkwo joined Labour Party in 2023 and was selected as one of the Presidential campaign official Spokespersons.

Kenneth Okonkwo got married to Ogechi Ezekiel in 2000 and later split in 2002. He then got married to Ifeoma Okonkwo in 2007 and after 9 years of marriage, the union was blessed with a child named Kenechukwu Okonkwo.
